February 12, 1879: Helena Roerich, Russian female philosopher, writer, public figure was born. At the beginning of XX century she has created, in cooperation with the Teachers of the East, a philosophic teaching of Living Ethics ("Agni Yoga"). She was an Honorary President-Founder of Institute of Himalayan Studies "Urusvati" in India and co-author of idea of the International Treaty for Protection of artistic and scientific institutions and historical monuments.

February 12, 1881: Anna Pavlova, a famous Russian ballerina of the late 19th and the early 20th century was born.

She is widely regarded as one of the most famous and popular classical ballet dancers in history and was most noted as a Principal artist of the Imperial Russian Ballet and the Ballets Russes of Serge Diaghilev.

Pavlova is most recognised for the creation of the role The Dying Swan and with her own company, would become the first ballerina to tour ballet around the world.
