September 15, 1801: Russian Tsar Alexander I was presented a machine, now known as the bicycle.

The tsar was so much surprised at the invention of the first bicycle by master from the city of Nizhni Tagil Efim Artamonov, that granted the freedom from bond service to the inventor and all his descendants.
