February 17, 1852: Hermiage (Saint-Petersburg) collection was available for public visiting for the first time.

February 17, 1906: Agniya Barto, a female Soviet/Russian poet and children's writer was born.

Barto was awarded the Lenin Prize and the Hans Christian Andersen Award for her works.

Her poems are well known and loved by modern children.
